This is my grimoire. It’s a record of miniature painting as it actually happens: the intent, the choices, the compromises, the parts I’m proud of (and the parts I’ve sanded back and repainted because I got overly brave at 1:30am).

It’s a living, breathing archive of my intentions and missions/ journey into miniature creation. It’s a little wanky at times, full of fluff an flowery descriptions. That’s on purpose.

This space is where I explore how my painting can carry emotion. ****To hone not just my technique, but also a little bit of story telling.

I want to make stuff that makes people lean in and look a little closer.

Here, you’ll find the bones of my painting projects: what they meant, how they evolved, what they felt like to create.

You’ll see a lot of rot here. Fungal blooms. Bruised greens. I like decay because it’s honest. It’s real. It’s not an aesthetic so much as a principle: things change, and the change leaves evidence. I like that.

🧿 A Little Note - Why Share This?

Social media rewards speed, polish, and trends. But making something I care about takes time, curiosity, and a little vulnerability.

In other words this shit is scary but I wanted to be authentically me.

The grimoire isn’t optimised for algorithms.

It’s a little slice of my brain and all the things I organise and put together. It’s a bit of an open challenge to myself for accountability and a broader challenge for us all to slow down and think about what we create and why.

The real reason is harder to dress up: I’m tired of lazy influence. I’m tired of people performing expertise and calling it education. I want to out-work them until the “effortless” look is earned and nobody can argue with it.

So I’m building a library. Not a feed.

I’m studying the Elements & Principles of Art month by month, and applying them to real pieces instead of theoretical exercises. You’ll see what I’m practicing, what I’m failing at, and what finally clicks. If I say “Line,” you’ll see where the line goes and why. If I say “Colour,” you’ll see the palette and the consequence.

I guess it’s for anyone who wants to follow the slower, stranger, more emotional road through miniature painting. Some of the real stuff that happens, not just the reel highlights.

If that’s your vibe, come rot with me 💖

🎵 Music I Rot To

I usually listen to my cryptid playlist when painting, it’s a silly playlist that follows a dndesque story line, where each song leads to a new campaign, make your own story as you go:
